Summer is upon us. Hogwarts has been abandoned by the students, who I hope are having a pleasant summer thus far. I know that all of you have received revision assignments from your professors for you to occupy yourselves with whenever your busy summer schedules allow. To those of you who are wishing you were back at Hogwarts: not to worry, you will be here again before you know it. The summer weeks will pass.

We will certainly miss the seventh years as they pursue their post-Hogwarts lives. It is an exciting time for them, and an exciting time for our future first years. New first years bring new energy to the school.

Thank you to everyone who remembered my birthday and acknowledged it with gifts and cards. I am touched beyond words by your thoughtfulness and, in some cases, creativity.

Best of luck to England going into the World Cup.

Good morning, students. It seemed that the large majority of students at breakfast this morning were seventh years preparing to take their History of Magic exams. Those students are writing their examinations as I write here.

I certainly hope that all students are satisfied with how they performed on their exams. As with all things, I am certain that hard work paid off. Anyone who isn't content with how they performed on their exams might take that into consideration when they are approaching their studies next year.

I was happy to stop by at a certain birthday party after receiving an invitation from Palmer Pinkstone and Crispin Switch. I was happy to see everyone at that party doing so well. Professor McGonagall unfortunately could not attend, she was understandably very busy marking exams.

I hope that all of the students benefited from their Career Advice last month and had a Happy Easter. I am looking forward to Puddlemere United playing the Holyhead Harpies next weekend. It's a shame that the Quidditch schedule and the Hogwarts schedule are so closely aligned, I rarely have the opportunity to see a match in person. A conversation about Quidditch would go amiss without mentioning the victory of England over Turkey. It was an impressive match.

I did see Slytherin play Hufflepuff at the end of last month. It's exciting to see people enjoying Quidditch so much.

I also hope that all of the students have their revision completed for Monday.

9 April 1982 - Morning Announcements

Good morning, students. I am so grateful to see so many cheerful faces on this Monday morning. I hope that all of you will enjoy a good breakfast at the start of this two-day school week. I am sure everyone is well aware of the Easter Holiday that begins this Wednesday the 11th and lasts until all of you return to Hogwarts on the Hogwarts Express on Wednesday the 18th of April.

The sign-up sheet for the Easter Holiday is circulating each of the House tables. Please sign with regards to whether you are staying at Hogwarts with us for the holiday or if you are venturing home to visit your friends and family.

Not long after you return from Hogwarts, the fifth years will engage in Career Consultations on the 21st and the 22nd. Upon your return, students will be expected to arrange a time to meet with your Head of House on one of these two days. These career consultations are important because they will help you to determine which NEWTs you will want to focus on going into your final months of revision. If there are any questions or concerns about this process, please direct them toward your Head of House.

As a final note, a reminder to all sixth years: even if you are of legal age, you are not yet licensed to Apparate legally. Regardless of how well you believe you can Apparate, I strongly advise all of you against trying it. Any attempt at this experiment will likely result in tears, vomit, and other undesirable consequences.

OOC: Easter hols, coming/going comments, maybe unnecessary since fewer students have a reason to stay at school, but if anyone is staying it might be noteworthy.

Good Morning, students. It's a pleasure to see so many of you alert at breakfast on Friday morning. The mood in the school seems to lift ten times over as soon as Friday approaches.

I'd like to wish a Happy Birthday to all of those who are celebrating this month.

I won't occupy too much of your time, I'm sure that many of you are discussing matters of great importance. This is a gentle reminder that Hogwarts will be hosting two Career Fairs this month, one this coming weekend and another over the weekend of the 24-25. Please be kind to those people who are volunteering their time to answer your questions. Keep in mind that they are here to represent their places of work and can only assist you as much as their professionalism allows.

Thank you for your time and consideration. Our caretaker, Mr Filch, has asked that students please treat Mrs Norris with respect.

I leave you with two words: scarfungus and plodderblottom.

The castle at Hogwarts is the emptiest it's been in eleven years for the Christmas holiday. That means I've had the chance to talk to all of the students who are in the castle for Christmas. I've enjoyed getting to know all of them. We had a wonderful Christmas Feast.

Happy Christmas, Boxing Day, and New Year to all, whether they have been home or abroad for the holidays. I am looking forward to the return of our students in 1982.

I doubt it has escaped your attention that the Christmas holiday is rapidly approaching. The holiday will begin on 18 December 1981, when the Hogwarts Express leaves the station at Hogsmeade, and it will end on 2 January 1981, when the train will leave from Platform nine and three-quarters. All students who are going home for the holiday are expected to be in the Great Hall at 8 o'clock in the morning for breakfast on the 18th, and on the 2nd they are expected to be on time for the 11 am departure from King's Cross.

For those students who wish to remain at school for the holiday, breakfast will extend until 10 am from the 18th of December to the 2nd of January. We will have the same Christmas feast that we serve every holiday.

It is the hope of the faculty and staff at Hogwarts that you will enjoy the time that you will spend this holiday season. The sign-up sheets are now being passed around your House tables. Please write whether you are currently planning to stay at Hogwarts or travel home for the holiday. If there are any changes in your plans or if you have any questions, please speak to your Heads of Houses.

[OOC: Comment with your characters' plans, pls and ty as always <3]
