7 May 1982 - early morning

I hope that all of the students benefited from their Career Advice last month and had a Happy Easter. I am looking forward to Puddlemere United playing the Holyhead Harpies next weekend. It's a shame that the Quidditch schedule and the Hogwarts schedule are so closely aligned, I rarely have the opportunity to see a match in person. A conversation about Quidditch would go amiss without mentioning the victory of England over Turkey. It was an impressive match.

I did see Slytherin play Hufflepuff at the end of last month. It's exciting to see people enjoying Quidditch so much.

I also hope that all of the students have their revision completed for Monday.

9 April 1982 - Morning Announcements

Posted on 2009.11.09 at 16:27
Good morning, students. I am so grateful to see so many cheerful faces on this Monday morning. I hope that all of you will enjoy a good breakfast at the start of this two-day school week. I am sure everyone is well aware of the Easter Holiday that begins this Wednesday the 11th and lasts until all of you return to Hogwarts on the Hogwarts Express on Wednesday the 18th of April.

The sign-up sheet for the Easter Holiday is circulating each of the House tables. Please sign with regards to whether you are staying at Hogwarts with us for the holiday or if you are venturing home to visit your friends and family.

Not long after you return from Hogwarts, the fifth years will engage in Career Consultations on the 21st and the 22nd. Upon your return, students will be expected to arrange a time to meet with your Head of House on one of these two days. These career consultations are important because they will help you to determine which NEWTs you will want to focus on going into your final months of revision. If there are any questions or concerns about this process, please direct them toward your Head of House.

As a final note, a reminder to all sixth years: even if you are of legal age, you are not yet licensed to Apparate legally. Regardless of how well you believe you can Apparate, I strongly advise all of you against trying it. Any attempt at this experiment will likely result in tears, vomit, and other undesirable consequences.

OOC: Easter hols, coming/going comments, maybe unnecessary since fewer students have a reason to stay at school, but if anyone is staying it might be noteworthy.

Good Morning, students. It's a pleasure to see so many of you alert at breakfast on Friday morning. The mood in the school seems to lift ten times over as soon as Friday approaches.

I'd like to wish a Happy Birthday to all of those who are celebrating this month.

I won't occupy too much of your time, I'm sure that many of you are discussing matters of great importance. This is a gentle reminder that Hogwarts will be hosting two Career Fairs this month, one this coming weekend and another over the weekend of the 24-25. Please be kind to those people who are volunteering their time to answer your questions. Keep in mind that they are here to represent their places of work and can only assist you as much as their professionalism allows.

Thank you for your time and consideration. Our caretaker, Mr Filch, has asked that students please treat Mrs Norris with respect.

I leave you with two words: scarfungus and plodderblottom.

The castle at Hogwarts is the emptiest it's been in eleven years for the Christmas holiday. That means I've had the chance to talk to all of the students who are in the castle for Christmas. I've enjoyed getting to know all of them. We had a wonderful Christmas Feast.

Happy Christmas, Boxing Day, and New Year to all, whether they have been home or abroad for the holidays. I am looking forward to the return of our students in 1982.

I doubt it has escaped your attention that the Christmas holiday is rapidly approaching. The holiday will begin on 18 December 1981, when the Hogwarts Express leaves the station at Hogsmeade, and it will end on 2 January 1981, when the train will leave from Platform nine and three-quarters. All students who are going home for the holiday are expected to be in the Great Hall at 8 o'clock in the morning for breakfast on the 18th, and on the 2nd they are expected to be on time for the 11 am departure from King's Cross.

For those students who wish to remain at school for the holiday, breakfast will extend until 10 am from the 18th of December to the 2nd of January. We will have the same Christmas feast that we serve every holiday.

It is the hope of the faculty and staff at Hogwarts that you will enjoy the time that you will spend this holiday season. The sign-up sheets are now being passed around your House tables. Please write whether you are currently planning to stay at Hogwarts or travel home for the holiday. If there are any changes in your plans or if you have any questions, please speak to your Heads of Houses.

[OOC: Comment with your characters' plans, pls and ty as always <3]

I hope that all of the students have received satisfactory textbooks for this term. I am looking forward to seeing all of the new faces that will be joining us at Hogwarts tomorrow. Students, please take care to be early for the train's departure. I wouldn't want any of you to miss the train. It is a quite difficult trip to Hogwarts without it, and I am sure that you are eager to see your friends.

Congratulations, of course, to all Prefects and the Head Boy and Girl. I trust that you will have your meeting on the train and be ready to face this year's challenges.

2 April 1981 - Morning Announcements

Posted on 2008.11.02 at 14:59
It would seem that all of you are quite aware that the Easter holiday is approaching, albeit perhaps not as quickly as you would like. I know that we are all aware of the dangers that continue to threaten our world, and I should hope that you would use careful deliberation and extreme caution when planning your weekend festivities.

The last day of classes will take place on Wednesday, 12 April. The Hogwarts Express will leave the station on the morning of the 13th. All of those who intend to leave on the Hogwarts Express for the holiday are expected to appear in the Great Hall by 8 am. Breakfast will be served until 10 am for those who still be staying for the extended weekend. The Hogwarts Express will leave from King's Cross on Tuesday 18 April, and classes will resume on the following Wednesday.

There will, of course, be an Easter Feast for those who are staying for the Easter holiday. Those of you who have yet to make a decision may speak to your Heads of Houses for advice. There is a list going about the tables; please sign your name and indicate whether you will be staying at school or going home. If you would like to make special arrangements, please speak to your Head of House.

Speaking of Heads of Houses, and correlating advice - Career Advice will be taking place starting 5 April for all fifth year students. It is imperative that they keep their appointments lest their meetings be delayed until after the Easter holiday. The professors have been offering Career Advice for many years now, and these sessions ought to help you prioritise your OWL revision.

Oddment and tweek, and a good morning to all of you.

[OOC: Comment with your students' plans for Easter hols.]

I have just finished listening to the record that Tofty gave me. It is hard to believe that there is still music out there that I haven't heard. Surely not much. This record was Icelandic and rather enchanting.

I am terribly sorry that we won't be hearing any more of Stubby Boardman's musical talent. Those turnips can be rather condemning.

16 November 1980 - Morning Announcements

Our first snowfall of the year yesterday was surely a sign that we are quickly approaching the holiday season. While I hope that it proves to be a joyous time for all of you to share with your family and friends, everyone sitting in this room knows that this cannot be the case for all of us due to circumstances beyond our control. I encourage you to consider staying at Hogwarts over the holiday, which will occur from 19 December, when the train leaves Hogwarts, through 3 January, when the train returns. We will have our annual Christmas feast, and after the amount of trouble various students who stayed last year managed to create, there are innumerable ways to enjoy oneself in the castle. All students are welcome to stay at Hogwarts over the break. If you have any concerns about your holiday plans, your Heads of Houses are available to answer your questions, as am I.

For all of you who are choosing to go home over the holiday, I implore you to do so with caution and to take the utmost care to stay safe. Remember not to travel at night and to never travel alone. The giants, dementors, and dark creatures that roam the countryside are all too real and dangerous a threat.

Know that all of you have a home at Hogwarts, and you are always welcome here.

The scroll to sign up for the holidays is being passed through each House table. If your plans should change between now and the 19th of December, please speak to your Head of House.

OOC Note: Please comment with your character and whether they are staying/going. As we get closer to the time, plans can always change, etc.
